For a year and half, I have been running my local Justice Cafe. Last night, we held our monthly conversation circle, with the topic of the night being migration. Timely, no?
Let me take a step back. Justice Cafes are a monthly meeting for Young Adults to discuss a selected Social Justice topic. The three stated objectives are to build community, act for justice, and deepen spirituality. Plus you get to meet other 20’s and 30’s, as well as have an opportunity to connect to the web hub to learn more and interact with the other global cafes to share your experience.
This program has been such a blessing for me. The great staff at the Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center prepare all the resources for you. All you have to do is pick date, a place, and invite some friends. I’ve been able to take the time to reflect on modern issues, as well as meet new people. It couldn’t be easier!
So, if you want to know what we discussed last night, or find out more info check out the ning site.
