Weeds are flowers too

I like this. I remember being a kid and liking what were ‘weeds’ but very plentiful in my backyard because they had little flowers on them. That’s why I love the quote below that landed in my inbox recently.

“Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them”. A.A. Milne (via Eeyore)
Winnie-the-Pooh

I’m rereading Eat, Pray, Love really one of my favorite books (and I think a really cheap form of therapy 😉 ). Anyway, Liz Gilbert mentioned in her speech recently (oh yes, keep waiting for THAT post) that negative thoughts and emotions that we have are not monsters that we are to be afraid of or push away. Rather they are orphans. They need to hear “Mommy loves you too” as well as “You need to take a nap” 🙂 !

If we can turn monsters into children and weeds into flowers, what do we have the power to positively change in our lives?
