A report from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations stated:
Accumulated research and experience show that while small farmers acting alone did not benefit from higher food prices, those acting collectively in strong producer organizations and cooperatives were better able to take advantage of market opportunities and mitigate the negative effects of food and other crises
This is what a CSA does. It spreads the risk, and the reward. Sure, I love getting veggies that I’ve never seen of before (purple carrots or purple peppers…what?), but knowing that I’m investing in a sustainable means of producing our vital foods; yup. That’s the creme de la creme of this meal!
Eat, share, live.
